Biography

I was the youngest child of a single mother with 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys. My mother could not afford to send us to the salon to get our hair done so we did our best. That's when I decided to go to cosmetology school. I was going to do mom and sisters hair and it was going to flow and shine like Farrah Fawcett. I though!
I went to school and being the youngest of 7 I had the "WHY" syndrome. I asked my teachers, "Why this didn't work?, Why my hair was not shining?, Why the hairdo didn't last? Why the color made my hair hard?, Why? Why? Why? etc. Their explanations were not enough for me, I needed to know how to solve the PROBLEM. Those were answers that most of my teachers didn't have, so they excluded me from theory class. I was told I took my questions to far. I thought if I didn't have answers for my own hair, how could I do other people's hair well?
While in school I met a colleague who invited me to work at a salon she managed. The owner of Robert Phelor Salon in Pasadena, California turned out to be the only one that didn't mind me asking questions, if he didn't have the answers he'd help me find it. Along with teaching me a very particular method of hair cutting. I also learned to appreciate the natural laws rather than using unhealthy chemicals on hair, forcing it to be and look unnatural.
With this new found knowledge from Robert, I began to experiment with different techniques and methods and over the course of 20 years. Ur Natural Shine was developed. Coming from a very large multi-racial family everyone can use it. Now everyon's hair can look like Farrah's did. We all have shiny healthy hair, "Because shine is universal and healthy is the way to grow"
